(Egg) Rolling with a Grump on the Mend
Arthur woke up just before 8 today. I'm starting to think that my bathroom routine when I get up wakes him up; the past three days he's woken up while I'm brushing my teeth in there. All the more incentive to sleep in, I guess. But he was noticeably less grumpy today than he was the past two days, and giggled a lot. So hopefully whatever was bugging him is getting out of his system. We had a busy morning, with two breakfasts, tummy time, a Mamma Mia! dance party, story-time,

Hashing It Out With a Little Fussnugget
Monday Arthur woke up early - around 7:30 - but he was pretty happy just hanging out on my hip for a bit before his breakfast, as I got ready for the day. He ended up being a bit fussy during the morning, though, and I wonder if it’s because he got a bit less sleep than normal. Laughing slightly against his will in the bouncer Sometimes when he’s tired, Arthur gets in this kind of drunk mood, where he alternates between fussing and giggling, and that seemed to be the case th

Sweet People Get Sweet Potatoes (Shepherd's Pie)
Arthur's night sleep seems to have settled after his four month sleep regression, and his wakeup times are nearly always between 8 and 8:30, which is very civilized. If he's not up by 8:30, we generally end up waking him up to keep things consistent. But I find there's often a correlation with his dinner; if he doesn't drink as well at his dinnertime feeding, he generally wakes up around 8 or just before. If he has a big dinner, we often end up waking him up ourselves. Saturd

24 Weeks + Pasta Salad for the Breastfeeding Soul
Arthur is 24 weeks old today! Not a big milestone or anything, but the big half year birthday is just over two weeks away! Happy to get three breakfasts today! We celebrated with a food combination: parsnip purée mixed with scrambled eggs. I heated it up for 15 seconds in the microwave, because I think part of his apprehension with some of the foods he's tried in the past is due to their coming straight of the fridge. Warm food is always better. He was lukewarm about it at f

Spinach, Spinach Everywhere (Tofu Saag)
Good times at Albert Heijn Arthur was in a good mood all through the day, with lots of smiles and giggles. He chuckled throughout his bath and grinned and trilled during his trip to the grocery store. He wasn't terribly hungry for his booby breakfast, but we did try a second breakfast of solids half an hour afterwards. First on the menu was more parsnip purée. Arthur was not impressed. Don't let the face fool you; he spent most of the "meal" looking at me in wide-eyed horror

Yorkshire Puddings & Tomatoes
It was another sleepy morning for Arthur, but a good day overall! Since starting solids, his poops have definitely become stickier and stinkier - Miklós keeps saying I should go back to exclusively breastfeeding. But the solids continue! Today, we introduced a new one: tomato! This one was roasted, and his reaction was kind of the same as usual; wide-eyed horror. But he slowly became more interested in it and seemed to at least tolerate it. Next we'll have to try it raw. He a
